Warm pinks and cool reds

Note: Zoya links are affiliate links, but I'm not being reimbursed or rewarded in any way for the rest of these links. It's just my own little obsessions.

Nordstrom's Butter London deals of the moment (this is the part I'm oddly obsessed with):
  • The Backstage Basics set is back (this is the one I ordered last week but haven't yet received), with Hardwear topcoat and Nail Foundation basecoat, Thames (a green), travel-size remover, and a nail file, for $24. This still seems to me to be the best deal, but compared to regular retail for these items, these are all good deals!
  • A "starter set" with Hardwear, Horse Power Nail Fertilizer, and Pillar Box Red Nail Lacquer for $27
  • "Coral Crush" and "Emerald Crush" trios - 3 polishes each, for $30 (and just about all of those are colors I've seen people rave about, although I'm not stopping to list them here)
(Today's mani after the jump)
Today's nails: I tried for fuchsia again, and, I don't know, I just don't seem to be in the fuchsia mood or something. I tried Zoya Kimber (2 coats over Sinful Colors basecoat, if you really want to know these things), and it just felt too pink. Maybe it's because it's a warm pink; I do remember having issues with it last summer also, and so I did what I kept doing last summer as well, and covered it up with a coat of Reva (and finished with Seche Vite). Reva is darker, enough so that they call it a cool red, even though it has gold tones to it just like Kimber does. It reads a little on the coral side to me, although part of that may be Kimber coming through from underneath. (I seem to keep wearing coral-shifted reds lately. But they seem to be flattering enough on me - somewhat surprisingly - and I seem to be enjoying them, so oh well.)

In other nail news, I may have impulse-control problems but I'm not going to have any trouble resisting the latest China Glaze collection. I hate bar glitter. (Actually I'm waiting for China Glaze's Halloween collection. I like those zombie greens they've done in past years.)

Oh, one last Butter London note: the new makeup is up on their website as of today. I got an e-mail about it this morning. (There are new polishes as well. Indigo Punk is the one that grabbed me. Luckily for my self-control, it's apparently already sold out for the moment.)
